Boston-Power Achieves CTIA Certification For Its Lithium-ion Cells

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. and BEIJING, CHINA, Sept 16th, 2014 - Boston-Power Inc., an industry leading developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and energy storage technologies, today announced that its Swing 5300 and Sonata 5300 cells have successfully met all of the rigorous requirements for CTIA certification outlined in the IEEE 1725 standards.

The IEEE 1725 is a testing standard that establishes criteria for design analysis for quality and reliability of rechargeable Li-ion batteries for mobile telephone applications. CTIA, which is an international organization representing the wireless communications industry, has implemented a compulsory certification scheme for mobile phone batteries and most all carriers having implemented this mandatory requirement.
