The IEEE 1725 is a testing standard that establishes criteria for design analysis for quality and reliability of rechargeable Li-ion batteries for mobile telephone applications. CTIA, which is an international organization representing the wireless communications industry, has implemented a compulsory certification scheme for mobile phone batteries and most all carriers having implemented this mandatory requirement.
