Electric Vehicle (EV) Field Sales Engineer

Boston-Power, Inc. is currently seeking an Electric Vehicle (EV) Field Sales Engineer. Selected individual will collaborate with Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturer prospects and customers to understand current and future battery pack requirements.This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting, dynamic, pre-IPO company delivering adaptive, scalable, energy storage platforms that meet the requirements of next-generation EV applications and the call for a more environmentally sustainable future.


  • Evaluate EV pack requirements, assess feasibility and viability utilizing BPI current and future product offering.
  • Configure and present pack level solutions that align with customer requirements and assist customer in integration of a BPI based solution and debug battery pack issues with customer when necessary
  • Establish a depth-of-knowledge as it relates to BPI partner solutions which includes EV BMS manufacturers, Drivetrain manufacturers, EV pack assemblers and EV design houses
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot and identify battery pack problems in their EV application
  • Provide presentations throughout the customer organization as it relates to providing a BPI solution to meet their EV project objectives
  • Establish a command of BPI’s product offering for the EV market
  • Meet predefined design win objectives

Qualifications and General Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minor in Electrical Engineering desirable
  • Five to ten years of experience in a field sales engineer role
  • Experienced in technical sales & support in the Electric Vehicle market
  • Background in battery/power management is highly desired
  • Working knowledge of lithium-ion chemistry is a plus

  • Assist customers in the integration of BPI products, potentially along with BPI partner solutions (e.g. third party BMS)
  • Provide or facilitate training for EV customers on new BPI products Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
